Maps, globes, pictures and souvenirs; there are several ways to celebrate travel experiences in your home. But what happens when you run out of wall or shelf space? How can you continue to find ways to show off your favorite travel memories? Enter the wanderchain. Wanderchains are a creative way to carry your love for travel and adventure with you long after you’ve tired of souvenirs and mementos.
Wanderchains are like a keychain but so much more fun. The leather wanderchain holds engravable tokens that mark the places you’ve traveled. I love collecting them. I started with the chestnut leather wanderchain and purchased tokens for each of the countries we’ve visited; Italy, England, France, Greece, Germany, Czech Republic, Iceland, Brazil, Belgium and the Netherlands.
I carry this wanderchain on my work bag and often get questions or compliments on it. It easily clips to the zipper of my bag and makes me smile each time I back up to head to the office.
I also have a rose gold wanderchain token holder. I carry this one on my hiking day pack. The tokens on it are from the National Parks we’ve visited; Arches, Badlands, Bryce Canyon, Canyonlands, Capitol Reef, Death Valley, Gateway Arch, Glacier, Grand Canyon, Grand Teton, Isle Royale, Mammoth Cave, Rocky Mountain, Saguaro, Theodore Roosevelt, Wind Cave, Yellowstone and Zion.
Engraveable Tokens
My travel tokens were purchased a couple of years ago when just the country’s or park’s abbreviated name was available for engraving. Since then, the Wander Club has started engraving the entire country/state name or whole park name on the tokens. For an added cost, you can also get the year engraved on the backside of the token.
With each trip, I’ll hopefully be able to add to the chain. Since custom orders are also available, I plan to create a new wanderchain with Minnesota State Park tokens. I love the idea of toting a collection of travel memories with me across the globe or on the trail. If you’re interested in starting your own chain use my affiliate link for 15% off all orders!
