Dads are super and it’s fun to celebrate all the ways they make our lives better. My boys’ dad is known for his lawn mowing and snow blowing skills, sense of calm when there’s a spider and jokes that make us all roll our eyes. To recognize the major impacts dads have in our lives, I designed a super fun party to celebrate super fathers everywhere. Below you’ll find the details on how to create a Super Father’s Day party.
Super Dad Decorations
A simple piece of superhero fabric becomes the central focus of the dining table and the Super Dad party decorations. The superhero cupcakes sit atop a red serving tray. This serving tray gets a workout and has made appearances at my Christmas Movie Party, Firefighter Birthday Party and Barnyard Birthday Party.
The cupcakes are in blue starry wrappers with various superhero toppers.
I created this super dad banner using my Cricut. I tacked it to the dining room blinds and hung yellow paper lanterns in three sizes from red striped ribbon. The banner fits the party’s theme perfectly and was a great backdrop.
In addition to superhero-themed cupcakes, I also wanted to make a super special cake. I made an 8 inch round cake and covered it with bright blue frosting. To complete the cake, I added a Super-Man logo made out of fondant.
The Super Father’s Day party was not only for the father of my boys but for my dad and my brother, who was about to welcome his first child. When all the dads gathered at our house, a cupcake wrapper superhero wreath met them at the door. I used a styrofoam ring to make the wreath and attached the cupcake wrappers with straight pins. To create the Super-Man logo and other letters I used my Cricut and attached them with a dab of hot glue.
Super Dad Photo Booth
“This little one is this dads FUTURE kryptonite.” “These two are this dads only kryptonite.”
To create this super fun, super dad photo booth, I hung several yards of red polka dot fabric to make a backdrop. I added conversation bubbles made on our home printer and then backed them with yellow cardstock. All the dads and my boys wore Super-Man t-shirts. I created the shirts using store-bought t-shirts and added sticky felt lettering to match the party’s theme.
Dads are so important in our daily lives. The Super Father’s Day party is an excellent opportunity to remind them just how much we appreciate and cherish them.
