We plan to throw a Super Easy Super Bowl party this Sunday, despite the fact our favorite team isn’t playing. Instead of cheering for the home team, we’ll cheer for half time performances and funny commercials during this Sunday’s Super Bowl showdown between the San Francisco 49ers and the Kansas City Chiefs.
Super Food
I keep this party simple with easy to put together food and few decorations. After all, no one wants to spend hours cleaning up post party with school and work looming on Monday morning. When Minneapolis hosted the Super Bowl, our party theme followed that of the event, the Bold North. I use a two-tiered tray to display the parties main course (the same tray I use for my Back to School party). In this case, the fixings for walking tacos. I also made football shaped brownies and cleverly displayed them in a bed of green M&Ms. In addition to easy food, I also serve easy beverages. Purple Gatorade fit the Bold North color scheme and is a favorite of my boys. I was also able to find a bottle wrapper on Etsy that continued the Bold North theme
Super Decorations
Easy food options call for easy decorations. Again, the Bold North theme was represented in the banner, dinner plates and centerpiece. I accented the theme with teal and purple balloons as well. The banner was an Etsy download. The Lombardi Trophy is my favorite party decoration and is easy to make. The base is a Styrofoam cone and the topper is a foam football I snagged from my boys’ toy box. I simply spray paint the cone and football and carve out a hole in the football so it easily fits on the cone.
A simple and easy Super Bowl Party is a slam dunk. Oops…wrong sport. Again, I mostly watch for the half time show and the clever commercials.
