Set out some pizzas and some spooky beverages then invite friends and family for an afternoon of pumpkin carving and cocktails. Of all our seasonal parties, the pumpkin carving and cocktails is the easiest to put together. Seriously. There are no crafting skills required. Here’s how you can make it happen.
Carving Station
We swept out the garage and turned on the heater before setting up the carving station. A 6-foot table with an orange disposable table cloth made clean up a breeze. I set out the pumpkins and used a trick or treat bucket as a centerpiece. The centerpiece also held pumpkin stencil books and some carving tools. To make the space a bit more festive I used paper spider web doilies to display the tools.
Cocktail Station
In our basement, I used another 6-foot table covered in an orange cloth to set out the pizzas and the drinks. I used a simple scene-setting backdrop to make a huge and festive impact. More paper spider web doilies were scattered on the table to highlight the pizzas and Halloween themed paper plates. I already had the drink caddy from a Stargazing and S’mores Party I’d done earlier this fall. I loaded it with spooky cocktails (kid versions of lime Gatorade and lemon-lime soda with gummy eyeballs) as well as some beer and hard cider. The chalkboard pumpkin and witch are decorations I stole from other parts of the house and used for this party. To complete the food table I used a white tray to set out cookies made by Oh, Cookie Bakery that I had leftover from our Great Pumpkin Party.
That’s it. It’s that simple. See the simple supply list below. The kids and the adults (though they likely won’t admit it) had a great time carving. I think all our pumpkin carvings turned out wonderfully.
