Our seven year old was living his best life on the day we visited Minnesota’s Largest Candy Store. The store’s row after row, shelf upon shelf and aisle after aisle of sugary treats is dizzying. The quantity of candy is too numerous to count. In addition to candy, the store also has salsas, bread mixes, pasta, popcorn, meat products and fresh-baked pies. Located in Jordan, MN right off of highway 169, the giant yellow barn and silo are almost impossible to miss.
I gave the boys free rein to choose any candy they wanted. We almost made an entire lap around the store before they’d even added one item to our basket. They were just overwhelmed not only by the candy choices but by the displays.
Minnesota’s Largest Candy Store underwent a renovation in 2020. Movie-themed figurines tower over the taffies, stand guard by the sour treats and create an out of this world atmosphere.
On our second pass through the rows, we started adding to our basket. A bit of chocolate, licorice, gum, suckers, gummy candies and a bag of caramel corn. I don’t think there is a candy Minnesota’s Largest Candy Store does not have, including International candy. We found chocolate from Germany and the Netherlands as well as flavored KitKats from Japan.
Just when I thought we’d found enough to rot our teeth and give us a gut ache, we discovered the shelves of flavored sodas. So we added a huckleberry and a strawberry soda to complete our basket of sugary bliss.
Our trip to Minnesota’s Largest Candy Store was the highlight of the week for our youngest son. He’s already planning a return trip and asked to sleep with the candy treasurers he scoured the store’s 27,000 square feet to find. According to our kids, the candy store is a must see destination in Minnesota.
