Leap year comes around only once every four years, so a leap year party is rare. Though rare, this party is rather easy to put together. You don’t need to be crafty to come up with a leap year party your littles will jump for joy over.
Leap Year Banner
Start building this party’s theme by downloading a banner. You can find one similar to this one here. Cut out each flag of the banner and back with pink or light green cardstock. Use a piece of twine to string the flags together and flank with strips of frog fabric. A quick, printable banner is an easy way to add a lot of added interest to your party’s theme. Adorable.
Place Setting
To create the place settings, use 12×12 pieces of light green cardstock for the placemats. Round the edges of the cardstock to shape into circles. Once the edges are rounded, cut a small triangle into the circle to resemble a lily pad. Top the lily pad placemats with a green chevron paper dinner plate. Next, fold pink napkins into water lilies to accent the plates. I suggest adding a pink chevron ramekin dish filled with green fruits or vegtables for another punch of color. Cover green bottled drinks with themed wrappers and dress with a striped pink straw. Super easy.
Centerpiece Food
For this party, the food takes center stage. Two rectangular white trays are home to frog apples and frog sandwiches. Some green apples, grapes, kiwi, raspberries and blueberries come together to create cute frogs with the help of a few toothpicks. Here are instructions on how to make these delicious apple frogs. Cut several layers of bread into circles and pile on deli meat and cheese to make frog sandwiches. The tongue of the frogwich is a sandwich pickle and the eyes are grapes. Two small green pots filled with glass beads and green raffia compliment the decorative food trays. Inside the pots are green wooden frogs perched on wooden skewers. Delicious. Fun. Healthy.
