For this year’s Valentine’s Party, I’m planning a hot cocoa and cookie party for my favorite gnomies. I was able to recycle a lot of the decorations for this party from previous festivities. I love when a new party takes shape out of old pieces I already have. The gnome valentine party was simple to set up and a great way to share a Saturday afternoon treat with our boys.
To keep this party simpler, I chose to decorate just our kitchen island area and serve the cookies and cocoa from here. To build out this space, start with a red and white checked piece of fabric. I use the same 2 yards of fabric from our Caramel Apple Bar Party. I bought a new yard of Valentine themed fabric and cut it into the shape of a table runner to fit the space.
Centerpiece and Place Settings
The place settings are similar to the ones used in our holiday tablescape. The gnome mugs were found at TJMaxx. As luck would have it, I also found the plush gnomes there as well. The idea for this party came from stumbling upon the mugs and plushies. To create a bit of height in the centerpiece I plopped the single gnome on a red cake stand I used in so many of our parties.
To accent the place settings, I made a cute gnome sign and placed them in these small 2×3 black frames. The frames are also part of our Little Love Valentine party. You can find similar ones at area craft stores. Below is the image used in the frames.
The main printable for the centerpiece is a simple sign I on black cardstock. The cocoa bombs came from a local baker, Oh, Cookie. The heart shaped sugar cookies were homemade. The boys and I spend an afternoon the day before the party baking and decorating these cookies. The cookies pictured below, I made. The boys’ cookies had WAY more sprinkles.
Finally, to complete the Gnome Valentine Party, I made a banner using my Cricut. I cut out basic letters and backed them with both Valentine themed and black cardstock. I hope you’ll give this cute gnome party a try. The decorations were easy to find and simple to assemble.
Happy adventuring, Rochelle
