Scheduling time away as a couple is so important. We love taking our kids on adventures but we also understand the need to connect as a couple. This understanding led to a date night that involved more than going out to dinner. We learned to make the dinner at a cooking class. This Date Your Spouse: Cooking Class adventure fed our appetites with tasty food and a unique experience.
We were fortunate to score an opening at the very popular Pasta Making Class at Abundant Kitchen. In each course, participants work in small groups to create a meal together. We chose the pasta making class but Abundant Kitchen serves up courses on bread making, Chinese take-out, homemade pizza and even dumplings.
During our time in the kitchen, we cooked up a brown butter sauce as well as a tomato based pasta sauce. The most hands-on and our favorite part of the class was rolling out fresh noodles. We rolled and cut both fettucine noodles as well as ravioli shaped pasta that we stuffed with roasted butternut squash filling.
The Date Your Spouse: Cooking Class adventure included eating the meal we made. I got a little overzealous as you can see in the picture below. I just couldn’t wait and devoured a few bites before I remembered I wanted a picture of our fresh pasta meal.
